Show Pfc. Natchees, who won the distinction of being the first American Am-erican to enter Berlin, is really an American. He's a Uintah Ute was spoken of today as a "fine Indian boy, always a very dependable lad", by Forest R. Stone, superintendent of the Uintah Uin-tah Agency at Fi. Duchesne. Pfc. Natchees was an active members of the Future Farmers of America and one of the few Indians to graduate from the Roosevelt High school at Roosevelt, Roose-velt, Utah. ! He is the son of Edward and Vera Loney Natches and the husband hus-band of Clara Areep Natchees. They have a daughter, Maxine. Before entering the army Pfc. Natchees worked in the CCC organization and on his father's ranch at Randlett, Utah. |
