Show Randlett Nanna Jarman Thursday night the regular meeting of the Randlctt-Ouray Civic Club was held at the school house. A banquet, prepared by the Bee Hive girls was served to all members and their part-jners. part-jners. Willard Day, a member of the State Roard Commission, was present as the guest speaker and presented a very interesting discussion dis-cussion of road problems all over the state, and our problems in particular, including the build- ing of the bridge at Randlett. A greater interest in road matters j was urged by Mr. Day, who slat-1 ed that to improve Basin roads j is one of the most fundamental problems affecting our future I development. Mr. and Mrs. Mark S. Woolley I and daughter," Merle, of Santa ! Monica, California, were visitors I here over, the weekend. The Woolleys were former residents of Randlett and have many J friends here. The Avalon school PTA meeting meet-ing was held Friday night at the school, house. The drilling of a well, next year's school, canning can-ning of surplus vegetables for school use, and the hiring of an additional teacher were the chief problems discussed. Arrangements Arrange-ments were also discussed for attendance of the school at the county Centennial day, to be held at Vernal later in the year. Refresments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harris have moved back from Ouray, where they have lived while driving driv-ing mail the past winter. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Daniels, of Ft. Duchesne, spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Daniels' folks, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Young. Mr. and Mrs. LaRue Pickup and children were visitors at the home of Mrs. Pickup's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Coston, of Alterra, Sunday. Speakers at Sacrament meeting, meet-ing, Sunday, were Murel Benson and Elvin Bascomb, of Roosevelt. Roose-velt. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill B. Col-ton Col-ton and children, of Vernal, spent Saturday ai the Harold Dudley home. Draden Foster, who has been working in Price the past winter, win-ter, has returned home to run his farm. The bishopric of the ward was reorganized last week with Mcr-riner Mcr-riner McMullin taking the. place of Alton Pickup at second counselor coun-selor to C. F. Wahlquist. |
