Show Galloway And 3 Riders Hurt In Car Wreck Louie Galloway and three persons riding with him were injured Wednesday, none critically, crit-ically, on their way to the Roosevelt Roos-evelt - Altamont football game, when Mr. GaJloway's new car went out oY control and went over the steep bluff on the Lake Fork hill at the Rovoli dugway. Those in the car with' Mr. Galloway were Mr. and Mrs. Martin A. Bentley, of Los Angeles, An-geles, Mr. Galloway's sister and brother-in-law, and Joseph McDonald, Mc-Donald, of Artesia. Mr. Galloway is at home, suffering suf-fering from rib and internal injuries, in-juries, while his passengers are all in the Roosevelt hospital. According to Mr. Galloway, Mr. Bentley suffered a broken leg, broken ribs, and internal injuries; Mrs. Bentley. broken ribs and internal injuries: and Mr. McDonald, the -least seriously ser-iously hurt of the four, contusions con-tusions and abrasions. Mr. Galloway said his car hit a loose rock in the road, too high for the car to clear, the steering wheel jammed, and the car went down an estimated 100-foot incline. The car landed nose down, then fell back on its top, into a marshy g'ully. Mr. Galloway thinks the marsh and the car's position when it first landed cushioned the shock enough so that the occupants were enabled lo come out alive. The car, though seriously damaged, is not completely demolished. de-molished. A wrecker moved it from the marsh to the residence of Fontella Galloway. |
