Mr. and Mrs. Joe Norton and daughter of Ogden visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Norton and other relatives here during the week. They left Sunday Sun-day morning for Salt Lake City where Joe will report to be inducted in-ducted in the armed forces. His wife and daughter will live in Lapoint while he is away. Mrs. Mason Lyman of Vernal' visited her daughters, Mrs. Orien Swain and Mrs. Rex Taylor and ( families during the week. i R. S. Jordan of the Roosevelt State Bank was a visitor in La-; point Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Reynolds l of Vernal visited with Mrs. Min-' nie Reynolds and family Wed-1 nesday. 1 Lazelle Nelson left Monday for Salt Lake City to take his physical examination. Mrs. Minnie Reynolds was happily surprised Monday morning morn-ing when her son Neldon came home on a furlough. Neldon has made his 2nd trip around the world and will report back to San Francisco February 19, where he will be assigned to a new ship and a new crew. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Merkley and son Allan of San Francisco, California Cal-ifornia also surprised her mother, moth-er, Mrs. Minnie Reynolds by coming home on a visit Wednesday. Wednes-day. Elmo Lee and family of Vernal Ver-nal visited his mother, Mrs. Rhoda Lee and other relatives here during the week. Ona Bisel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Bisel was operated operat-ed on for appendicitis at the Roosevelt hospital Tuesday. A party was held in the La-point La-point chapel Wednesday night in honor of Neldon Reynolds and Floyd Searle, who are home on furloughs, also for Hugh Ga-gon Ga-gon and Joe Norton who left Friday for Salt Lake City to be inducted. A program was rendered ren-dered and dancing enjoyed by the crowd present. Ashell Haslem, Has-lem, son of Mr. and Mrs. John nie Haslem of Bennett, who is home on a furlough was also present. H. A. Lee and Ell Lee of Vernal Ver-nal visited relatives and friends in Lapoint and Bennett during the week. Ersol Bingham and family of Alterra also Mrs. Velma Hull-inger Hull-inger Norton and family of Vernal Ver-nal visited with relatives here on Saturday. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Norton before Joe left for the armed forces. Ruth Sturgeon of Roosevelt was a visitor in Lapoint Saturday. Satur-day. Mr. and Mrs. Rile Blackburn, also Mr. and Mrs. Dclos Searle attended the funeral of Clyde Hansen held in Vernal Saturday. Clyde is a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Searle. Mrs. Nettie Remington, County Coun-ty school nurse of Uintah County Coun-ty was a visitor in Lapoint during dur-ing the week. Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Savage and family have purchased the Arthur Curtis home 3 miles north of town and will move there the 1st of March. John Wardle and family have been living there the past year, they will move to their ranch north of there. Mrs. Kenneth Hartle entertained enter-tained the following Sunday night in honor her husband's birthday: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hartle and daughter, Elna of Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Wilkins of Roosevelt and Mr. and Mrs. George Bigelow. A delicious de-licious plate lunch was served. |
