Show BROTHERS RECEIVE FURLOUGH David L. Hall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hall left for Camp Fannin, Texas, after spending a ten day furlough with his family fam-ily in Roosevelt. He will soon be transferred to Fort Meade, Maryland. Mary-land. fa tst, IN THE NAVY Byron L. Hall. S. 2-c, another son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hall, just arrived home on his first furlough since he entered the Navy in January, 1944. He is now stationed at Bremmerton, Washington. 'Pa GUNNER ON B-17 15th Army Air Force Sergeant Ser-geant Joseph E. Jenkins of Bluebell, Blue-bell, AAF B-17 Flying Fortress tail gunner, recently arrived at an Italian base, participated in his first combat mission over Ploesti, Rumania on May 18, 1944. Sgt. Jenkins' organization was recently commended by Major Ma-jor General Nathan, Twining Commanding General of the 15th AAF, for its excellent record in numerous raids over enemy targets tar-gets in Hitler's Fortress Europe. Sgt. Jenkins is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel H. Jenkins of Bluebell. He graduated from Al-tamont Al-tamont High school in 1942. Entered En-tered the AAF on April, 1943, later he won his wings as an aerial gunner upon graduation from flexible gunnery school at Fort Myers, Florida in November of 1943. fa fa'. STATIONED AT Lowry Field Corporal Reed H. McClellan. formerly of Roosevelt, husband of Mrs. Dorothy W. McClellan, has just completed the Army Air Force Remote control turret school at Lowry Field, Colorado, where he has been stationed since December 25, 1943. He is now a senior gunner on the new B-29 bomber. Cpl. McClellan McClel-lan will be stationed at Lowry Field for some time as an instructor. in-structor. He was a student at the Alterra High school and for two years was employed at Lockheed Air craft company in liuroanK, California. Before his induction he was a foreman at the Ogden, Air Depot. Mrs. McClellan and daughter, Gail expect to join him in the very near future. "fa'Wv THREE BROTHERS IN SERVICE A. Claire Benson, Seaman 1-c enlisted October, 1942, was sent to Farragut, Idaho, for boot training, was there six weeks. From there he was sent to Bremerton, Washington, and took one month of gunner training train-ing and then went into active duty on an oil tanker. IN THE ARMY Pfc Theron Benson entered the Army October, 1942. First was stationed at Camp Howzc, then took a few months schooling school-ing at New Concord, Ohio. He is now stationed at Camp Claiborne, Clai-borne, Louisana. Theron is field Radio man for his company. fcafa'v IN SIGNAL CORP Pvt Loren G. Benson entered the Army Signal Corp July, 1943 Was at Fort Douglas for three months as typist, then was transferred to Camp Crowder for a few months, from there was sent to Adjutant General school at Fort Washington, Maryland, Mary-land, and then sailed for England where he is serving as typist m the Field Artillery branch. All three are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Benson of Ioka. |
