Show Aged Pioneer Funeral Held At Myton Henry Harris, 86 years old died at his home in Fort. Duchesne Du-chesne Tuesday. He attended school in Grand Junction, Colo., and taught school there and in Whiterocks before the opening of the Reservation. He moved to the Uintah Basin 60 years ago, worked for Calvert and Waugh at Myton and was then quartermaster quarter-master at Ft. Duchesne; he also acted as interpreter and peacemaker peace-maker during the trouble with the Sioux Indians. Later he raised rais-ed sheep and cattle. He is survived surviv-ed by his widow, Mrs. Mary May Reed Harris, and the following sons and daughters: John Harris, Mrs. Delia Curry, Clarence, Pamp, Muse, Henry Jr., Mrs. Mary Denver, Mrs. Ada Zunaga, Mrs. Lula Murdock; 42 grandchildren grand-children and 37 great grandchildren. grand-children. He has five grandsons in the armed services; Glenn Murdock, Radio M 3-c; Sgt. Albert Al-bert Harris in Alaska; Pvt. Ellis Denver U. S. M. C. in Okinawa; Alvan Denver, See Bee in New Guinea and Corp. Rex Cury in Germany. Funeral services will be held in the Ballard Chapel Thursday at 2 o'clock, and interment will be in the Ft. Duchesne Du-chesne cemetery. |
