Show Farmers Urged To Make Early Report On AAA Practices Farmers who have completed conservation practices under the 1947 farm program should report re-port these practices promptly to the county agricultural conservation conser-vation committee. Wm. O. Lar-sen, Lar-sen, chairman of the Duchesne agricultural conservation committee, com-mittee, points out that considerable consider-able delay in getting assistance payments to farmers can be avoided by more promptly reporting re-porting of practices. He explained farmers themselves them-selves have a responsibility in supplying the county committee with evidence that practicesiave been carried out. Every year there are a few farmers who fail to report on Hhe practices completed com-pleted and then after the deadline dead-line is passed come in and want to know why payments haven't been received. They point out that they have completed the practices in accordance with specifications spe-cifications and that the assistance upon which they are depending to pay for seed or for work done hasn't come in. Funds to assist farmers in carrying out conservation practices prac-tices are allocated on a yearly basis and for that reason a "cut off" date has to be set. Then too, Mr. Larscn said, funds tied up to help one farmer may be released re-leased to help another where intended in-tended practices are not carried out by the first farmer. |
