Show Stock Treatment Program Outlined Lice infested cattle will cost you money this winter, but control con-trol of the parasites now will result re-sult in increased milk production produc-tion in dairy 'cows, and heavier gains in beef cattle, according to County Agent Louis A. Jen-sen. Jen-sen. Effective control of lice can ! best be obtained by the use of j 50 per cent wettable DDT either (Used as a spray or a dip, Mr. Jensen pointed out. However, DDT will not destroy des-troy the eggs, hence the first treatment should be followed by another one in about two weeks in order to kill later hatches. Arrangements have been made to treat lice infested stock for those who do not have ready access to a dipping vat or spray outfit. The county owned sprayer, spray-er, handled by an experienced operator, will be made available land treatment will be applied 'at individual farms at a cost of 1 20 cents per head, Mr. Jensen I advised.
