Show Duchesne County EVSay See Comet The people of Duchesne county coun-ty may be interested in the prediction pre-diction of Dr. John Jackson, Royal Roy-al astronomer of South Africa, that the great comet of 1947 will whirl over the Northern Hemisphere Hemis-phere sometime after the first of the year. The astronomer thinks that the people of this part of the world may be able to see the comet faintly twd and three-quarter hours after sunset. He estimates esti-mates one of its five, tails at 20,-nnn 20,-nnn nnn milps in lensth and says that the comet is brighter than Haley's comet which was last seen by people on the earth close to forty years ago. We hope the good professor is correct in his prognostication because we have a hankering to observe a real comet in the sky. So far as we know, no such celestial ce-lestial visitor has passed distinctly distinct-ly within the range of our vision. We want to see the comet s tans, described by the professor as reforming re-forming constantly, like streams cf smoke, because of its nearness to the sun. |
