Show LAPOINT Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rasmussen of Layton, former residents of Lapoint, visited here last week. Mrs. Dorrcll Rasmussen and Reed Rasmussen and family of Salt Lake City were also visitors. Marvin Smith, who is a pilot on a B-29 and stationed at Grand Island, Michigan, visited his father, Bli Smith and sister, Mrs. Floyd Angus and family during the week. Mrs. Raymond Stewart, Stew-art, a sister to Marvin, accomp-ied accomp-ied him from Salt Lake City. Marvin and his father visited Mr. and Mrs. Tom Burton at Browns Park during the week. Marvin has been in the service 3 years and has re-enlisted for 2 more years. Roy Foster of the Merchant Marine is home on furlough, visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ilayden Foster. He has just returned re-turned from a trip to Japan. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Burton of Grcystonc, Colorado visited their daughters, Mrs. Elmer Caldwell and Mrs. Travis Nielson and families. Mrs. Nielson returned home during the week from the Valley hospital in Vernal. Mr' and Mrs. Darnell Swain announce the arrival of a baby boy, born Nov. 1 at a Salt Lake hospital. Mr. and Mrs Garn Stocker, Mr. and- Mrs. Wendell Stocker, and Mrs. Annie Stocker all of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Stocker and baby of Copper-ton Copper-ton visited in Lapoint over the week end. They also enjoyed the pheasant hunt. A party was held in the Lapoint La-point chapel Tuesday night in honor of the following boys who have been discharged from the Army; Lloyd Rasmussen, Ralph Long, Floyd Searle and Seth Lee, Also honored were the following boys who are home on furlough: Loris Wooley, Roy Foster, Elroy Walker and Dave Burgess. A program pro-gram was presented and 3 skits enacted under the direction of i Mary Norton: after which danc- ing was enjoyed by the large crowd present. Elvin Armitstead and son, Orvel, of Copperton, Utah visited with his sister, Mrs. Alice Angus and sons during the week. F. E. Pillsbury and family, former residents of Lapoint visited visit-ed here during the week. They are now living in Salt Lake City. ; i Elroy Walker, son of Mr. andi Mrs. L. J. Wal'.-iV ."vcd home Monday on a 3-Uuy xurlough. He has been overseas most of the time the past two years. Gerald Brady of Murray, O. D. Turner and Ernest Turner visited at the home of Harlan Turner and family this week end. They also attended the funeral of Ivan Turner at Tridell on Friday. Ralph Taylor of Salt Lake City visited his mother, Mrs. Roxa Taylor, and other relatives over the week end and also enjoyed en-joyed .a pheasant hunt while here. Ray Lee made a trip to Salt Lake City to get his wife who was operated on a month ago. The Relief. Society held its Conference Sunday night at the chapel. Mrs. Ruth Lundell, stake officer of Vernal was present. |
