Show Only a Promise This paper was in error last week when it stated that the county commissioners would commence work immediately on ihe roads in the canyon. This was only j a promise to the committee, which has been importuning them to make much needed improvements for several weeks. Improvements are badly needed both in the Copper-field Copper-field and the Highland Hoy roads and the unemployed of the district are sorely in need of the work these im-' provements would provide. As we go to press this week, we are again informed that the county commissioners intend to do some work here, but do not know just when it will be commenced We do not know what is holding back this work. After Af-ter several visits to the commission by the unemployment unemploy-ment committee and delegations from the Kiwanis club, the commissioners did make a visit of inspection to the district ten days ago and promised the committee improvement im-provement work would start immedately. Up to this time, that is all it has amounted to. Meantime the people of Bingham are compelled to put up with a situation of which the commissioners are well aware and which is extremely bad. Ice flows in the creek below Highland Boy have caused the flooding of the road, making travel very difficult for this section and unless un-less the creek is taken care of, work on the road is at ! its best only temporary. The people would like to know, in addition to making mak-ing promises, what, if anything, the commissioners are going to do about it. |
