Assistant Secretary of the Navy Ernest Jahncke, Mayor Harry A. Mackey of Philadelphia, and Admiral Bostwick, commandant of the Philadelphia navy yard, took part In the ceremony. The newest member to Uncle Sara's family of cruisers will cost approximately $5,000,000, will have a speed of 32.7 knots and wlli be completed In October, 1933. |
