Show DARING BURGLARY COOK ISKOS BROS STORE AT INTO AND three tough touch 0 looking customers by name charles ferguson farguson david jones and charles johnson all apparently about 25 years of age broke into the general tre merchandise store of cook bros at woodruff on thursday night aug 19 and helped themselves to a complete suit of underclothes each besides hats gloves shirts shoes ties and tie pins they were arrested on friday and taken before justice jos IT 11 neville keville who discharged them as the evidence was insufficient to detain them in custody or convict them they were however kept under surveillance by sheriff marshall and about 6 on saturday evening judge neville saw them through his field glass go to the place where they had the stolen goods cached and remove them they were followed by sheriff marshall sheriff ward of uinta co wyo and constable taylor of evanston and overtook about 15 miles cast of evanston in company with another man who had a team and wason wagon the whole party were preparing for dinner when the sheriffs sheriff Is party arrived although they were all heavily armed they surrendered without a show of resistance the stolen goods were found secreted in the old mans wagon the man and wagon was allowed to go and the sheriffs and their prisoners returned to randolph the prisoners were taken from the county jail at randolph to woodruff on thursday and a hearing was had before justice neville who committed them tor for trial bonds were fixed at 1000 each co attorney E lee appeared for the prosecution and attorneys le roy boy N french and A A hammond are counsel for prisoners none of the prisoners belong to this county chas ferguson belongs to vernal but has been employed at woodruff on several occasions acca the home of the other prisoners is not known but they are believed to hall hail from the same place |
