Friday November 17, 1939 Ferrell Hayward Woodruff News ; Laid to Rest On Friday morning, Nov. 10, the ,toTO of .Randolph was saddened when word' of the death of Ferrell Hayward, near Rawlins, Wyo., in a mine cave-i. m came to his sister, Mrs. Clyde Wilson. just fifteen 'Thursday at 4:45 p. minutes 'before the day shift was done, the roof of the mine in which Mt. Hayward was working with four other men, caved in burying and killing all of .them. Mrs. Stackhouse, wife of the mine foreman, was standing near by and saw the disaster. She drove the thirty two miles into Raw-lira- s for help.' The bodies of all five were removed and itakem to Rawlins ' to the mortuary there. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Wilson and Mrs,. A. 'L. Hoffman went to Rawlins and brought the body of Ferrell to Randolph for funeral services and burrial. ; The deceased was born In Mountain Home, Idaho1, Dec. 29, 1907. When' h was 18 months old his mother died and .he and his sister Iva were taken into .the home of their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs, Jas. A. Hayward. Fer-.re- ll attended' ' school in Randolph, Granger, and Murray. He hasi spent most of the past sixteen years in and around Wamsutiter, Wyo., where be left a host of friends. His only survivor is has sister, Mrs Clyde Wilson of Randolph and two uncles and five aunts .of his mothers' family. Funeral Service Tuesday Funeral services were held in the Randolph ward Tabernacle Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 2 p."m. with Bishop L. B. Johnson conducting. ,, .'The choir rendered the opening song, Guide Me To Thee. Invocation was by Elder H. H. Hoffman Singing Abide With Me 'Tis Eventide by the choir. A short biographical sketch of Ferrrells life was given by Mrs. Edna Rex. Speakers were Elders W. T. Rex, Mearl, Peart, David Hoffman and IBp. Johnson. A vocal solo Face to Face was. rendered by Sheldon Rex sang the Kennedy, and solo Give Me T.hy ILove. Benediction was by Elder H. j! Norris and the grave was dedicates , by Elder Kenneth Hatch. (Pallbearers, close friends' and school mate of the deceased were Steve Wilson, Matt Clawson, Henry .Niebolls, Ralph Nebeker,' Arthur Brough and Keith Jes' sup. There was a profusion of lovely fall flowers, . which- showed the !o ve and respect friends had for Ferrell. Mr. and Mrs. David Neville visited with friends here, last week. Mr. and Mrs 'Owen Cox visited here several days last Week. A number of friends met at the home of Mrs. Mary K. Weston Friday afternoon, giving a party in honor of her 74th birthday. Her son, Russell W.
