| Show rules relating to control of influenza 1 I desire to call to the attention of all health officers physicians and the general public for their guidance certain regulations of the state hoard board of health in relation to the prevention and control of influenza said dr J I 1 L jones state health commissioner to our reporter today LY 1 every SEvery case or suspected case of influenza hall be reported immedi neely to the local health authorities and in turn to the state board of health where no physician is in attendance it is the duty of parents guardians nurses etc to report the case 2 the home in which the case is confined shall bo be placarded pla carded by th tha local health authorities this establishes the ho isolation lation for the patient and serves to warn the oie public that a case exists there 3 isolation shall not be terminated until at least three days after the temperature pera ture has returned to normal 4 cases shall bo be excluded from school until the termination of the isolation lation period 5 all persons exposed and attend ing school shall be carefully examined each morning for five fire successive Rive days for any signs or symptoms of this dis lease ease 6 ailing children shall be excluded from school and may only return after the disappearance of the symptoms ms or with a written statement of is 1 physician that the child is not in a contagious condition these latter regulations are not onia oab applicable to schools but the state aboard of health recommends bends that they be carried out in stores shops offices and other places of work employing ia ra number of people t 7 if a case is properly isolated other occupants of the household who do go not come in contact with the patient 1411 nd show no evidence of illness need not be conti confined ined to the premises 8 no person suffering from influenza shall be removed from any community or county in ill which found unless written consent to such removal be first obtained from the health authorities ties of the jurisdiction from which ind to which removal is contemplated i 9 public funerals are Per permissible on 12 deaths from influenza if all orifices if the deceased have been closed with absorbent cotton soaked with approved solution these regulations were established b t safeguard the welfare of the puh pub X FK fe k health authorities are cha charged aged ith the r responsibility of their enforce eh lent ent but this t can 1 be done one effectively aly ay when I 1 physicians school authora authon ile ln KS Is and the general public give their 11 cooperation |
