Show Drama Tells Students About Sex Molesters Recently, a unique and effective approaching to educating students about child sexual abuse was experienced ex-perienced by the seventh grade students stu-dents at Millcreek Jr. High. DURING AN assembly sponsored spon-sored by the Davis County Mental Health Department, students were instructed through the medium of drama how child molesters manipulate man-ipulate feelings. The acting troupe who performed the situations is called Vectors and is comprised of psycho-social workers who have a theatrical background but are guided by mental health professionals. profes-sionals. Through their dialogue the actors taught the young people to be aware of the growing menace of child sexual abuse. They also educated edu-cated students that they are never the guilty parly and that help is available should they ever become a victim. At the conclusion of the presentation the players acted out the feelings of each member of a family involved in incest. THE LONG range value of the entire program is not only in offering offer-ing help for the present but in educating edu-cating the students in the context of future parent roles. A 45-minute videotape was made by the Millcreek Production to be viewed by other groups who may be interested. It is noteworthy that the Vectors Troupe also make presentations centered around the theme of alcohol and Drug Abuse, marital and parenting concerns, communications and stress management. man-agement.
