Father Joseph Robinson returned Friday from an extended visit 1 Salt Lake City and Woods Cross, where he spent the winter. Someone told him we had summer here but we did-- 1 not, quite. However, h elooks" as though ha wintered fairly well. On Friday evening, Feb. 20th., un- der the direction and supervision; of the eommitee, the married folks were feted in a royal manner at a gala celefbratiou in the amusement hall. Commencing at 7 p. m. a sumptuous feast was indulged in by the whole assembly. Two long tables as long as the hall were filled with wonderfully appetizing delicacies and ihen some, and had the hall been longer, so with the tables, even as It .was there was more than could be eaten at one sitting. After the' supper the following program was rendered : Lola JV, Song Mya. Blue Heaven, Johnson, .male quartett, Heber 0. Robinson, Albert R. Weston, N. Oliver Wahlstrom and Russell W. Kijk; reading, Mrs. Lola B. Kearll speech, Alfred Kearl; musical quartett, Shirley Nebeker, jr., saxaphone,' Pearl Ndbeker, piano, Mary Nebeker, Xylophone. and Shirley Nebeker, sr., vocal. A' strong man demonstration was exhibited by Mr. Andrew Mattson' ; carrying a rocking chair on his head with another man sitting in the chair, bending spikes with his teeth and picking up 300 lbs. of salt with his teeth, (county fair committees will do well to keep this in mind for their next attraction.) Mrs. Rose Weston broadcast a television demonstration over the mike where scenes of movie stars were thrown on the screen. A one-aplay, Mrs. Wilsons Will. was presented by the Mesdames Lydra, Johnson, Cora John M rison, Alley Taylor, Josephine Lam--berm and Mary C. Robinson. This was very and those ' ? 'who ate too much supper couldnt laugh all they would have liked to. The rest of the evening was spent in dancing to music set forth by Oliver "Wahlstrom manipulating a push-puorgan, Heber C. Robinson brushing cobwebs from forgotten Leys on the Ivories, and incidental strumming of a banjo by Brigham Irwin. This day he blessed and sanctified and gave a command to his people to remember this day and keep it holy. In it no work shoulud be done. It is a gepcial day for worship and prayer to pay our devotions to the most high. To do this we must go to the house of worship. There we partake of the sacrament and covenant with our Heavenly Father that we will keep His commandments. In our Lords last supper with his Apostles before his curcifixion He broke bread and poured wine ahd passed it to His Apostles, telling them to do this in remembrance of Him and this is a law today. We obey this law by attending church serv-ic- e on Sunday and partaking of the sacrament. When we partake of the sacrament we acknowledge Christ as our Savior. Each time we do this it strengthens our faith in Him. If we have faith in him we will have a stronger testimony of His gospel and will try to obey his commandments. The sacramecnt is not all we receive from church services, though. There are. preachers who deliver faith promoting messages. Teaching ns the gospel and how to live it. This, together with music and prayer cannot help hut be a builder of faith and testimony. HELEN REX. Miss Annie Stuart is now clerking at Tingeys store. The first was the personality of God. Joseph Smith saw and talked with God, the fathHe er, and His son, Jesus Christ. testfled to the world that these two beings were men with bodies like our fathers and that the Holy Spirit is a personage of spirit. But it takes three to make the God Head. Joseph Smith and Oliver Coudery received the Aronic Priesthood direct from John the Baptist and later the higher of Melchlzedek Priesthood from Peter, James and John. Every male member of the church Is entitled to if they live hold these priesthoods for it, which gives them power to act in Gods name. It teaches that the correct mode of baptism is by imersion and that every person in the world is a child of God and is endowed by his creator with free will to chose between right and wrong. He tells us that we all lived in the spirit world before we were born in the flesh, and that we will all live after this life and continue to increase in. knowledge. There will also Ive a ressurection and all men will be and will receive some .resurrected, degree of glory. The degree that has been earnest; by them on this earth. The eartn is to be redeemed and receive a paridicial glory, and Jesus and the' righteous will come here to dwell for a thousand years. The book of Monman tells us that this continent was inhabited before Columbus came here. The people on this continent were called the Nephites and the, Jaradites from which came the American Indian. Joseph Smith thru revelation, gives us the word of wisdom. This tells us that tea, coffee, tobacco, and strong drinks are not good for man. It also promises that if we keep this commandment, we shall have health, strength and hidden treasurs of knowledge, and that the destroying angel will pass us by as he did the children of Israel. 2 minute talk Roy McKinnon. .
