Show DAN HANSEN IS CAPTURED arrested by constable kesler at black rock his attorney says that hansen lost his head and was making his IN way to salt lake sheriff abbott and deputy albert engar returned from blackrock on monday morning having in custody dan hansen of elsinore who escaped from the custody of constable peterson of salina last wednesday night the escape of hansen eau caused s ed a big sensation here and as soon as it was known that he hid made his getaway get away the telephone and telegraph were brought into use and every officer in every direction was furnished with a complete description of the culprit mr kesler who keeps the station at coe fort 40 miles from richfield was called by the sheriffs office and told to look out forhan for forhan han sen he was instructed to go to black rock and investigate as it was possible that hansen was making in that direction kesler took the road for that point and he had not proceeded far when he be struck a trail that came into the road read which looked as though some horseman had made a detour to avoid cove fort he followed this trail and it led directly to black rock this is a little way ay station on the san pedro road inquiry at the station developed the fact that no one had taken the train at that point answering the description mr air keiler then went to the hotel and made inquiries and he found hansen waiting at the hotel to take the first train for salt lake kesler arrested him and then wired the town marshal at milford to come and get Harse Har Tand place him fur safe keeping the marshal did this and hansen was nas safely in custody on thursday night friday morning the officers here acre made aware of the capture of hansen and sheriff abbott who had arrived from the north and was in command made arrangements to go to milford and bring back the pris prisoner oneL A about out 2 that afternoon the sheriff accompanied by albert enear left here for milford they made good line lime and at 7 that night they va w ere at the head of clear creek can on where they stopped tor supper A after f ter resting the horsch until 9 they resumed their journey when going down the other side of the divide they encountered the worst road in this section the vehicle bumped and lumped jumped from rock to rock when suddenly the front axe gave way and one wheel was torn from the rig the balance of the trip as far as cove fort had to oe be made op on foot it was near midnight the sheriff and his deputy entert enten the fort another outfit was obtained her and the journey was continued ne morning to black rock kock they cou J not get a train for milford at thit thib point that suited their time connections and the sheriff wired the marshal at milford to bring hansen haneen to black rock and this was done the sheriff had his man on saturday night and ana after spending the night at black rock they started for home on sunday morning making elsinore that night here the prisoner met his wife and his attorney W E both of whom hart had come coma from salt lake hansen was brought to richfield on monday morning ind ho he was as accompanied by mrs hansen and attorney speaking of the motives for the escape mr said to a reaper representative that mr hansen was so BO worried with the cases that were piling up against ag dunst him and being unable to get bondsmen he concluded that he must get to salt lake the quickest and best way that was at his command he lost his head completely and took across the mountains intending to reach salt lake see his attorney ind and get his advice on tuesday hansen was taken to salina where the complaint cora plaint sworn to by W H brown and on which 2000 bonds were demanded by judge lund was filed this complaint was found to be defective and on afternoon A plea pica of not guilty WAS entered and the preliminary hearing w s set tor for november bonds berc fixed at 2000 in ane meantime another case hid been filed filed before city justice C B entered and the same date ws was set for the preliminary hearing bonds were ere placed at 1000 in thi this case bondsmen Bond irnen for all tho the 0 leases C ibes were vero secured in elsinore after much skirmishing around in the case in h joseph hugentobler was the cimpl the bonds varv signed by J I 1 jensen and nd C J jensen this is the ease case in which willis johnson and parley magleby were the original bondsmen but after the attempted e ecile cipe c ipe of hansen they relinquished him to the officers and vare rc released from the bonds in the case started at salina N P jensen jen sen J
