delightful out ing and they made wages ahil thea the were absent the first days journey brought the musicians train to junction where a dance was vas glen gien this was slimly attended owing to a hitch in the distribution of the anno un cements but expenses were paid the seo end days trek found the bunch of ro rn sic makers at panguitch street concerts were given here bere and two well delight they found the stories grossly exaggerated the road from panguitch leads oer oera a rather rough hill chien is clothed in cedar and florin pine nt ahen hen th s hill is passed the road winds through a caola canyon which aich is adorned with beautiful aed cedars longleaf long leaf pines and occasionally the canyon beens out antu a little valley with plenty of grats grass and shrubbery after the can un comes the stream from the lale lake which follows a succession of wide meadows and narrow gorges the hills bills on each side are timbered and altogether the road to the lake is d I 1 pleasant one the lake lies in a basin un n the tops of the mountains the first glimpse is obtained as the top of the last hill bill is reached reaL hed and there at ones feet lies the lake a beautiful body of water with an area of about six BIX or seven square miles on the tooth side bide is 13 situated the dancing pavilion and cabins the pavilion is a large roomy structure wit with a floor space baskets were ere hut but un in the and tuesday afternoon should hae bate been devoted to this sport panguitch and Paro carowan parowan were pitted against each other the boys had for an hour and the hall bill management then asked for a statement of how the games were to be conducted oon ducted otto bury was the acting manager for the basket ball players the pavilion manager theodore chidester 0 offered the hall ball free for the games frames if no was charged bury stated that the players placers wanted something out of the games and would charge admission he also claimed 50 per cent of the leaving and by night only one third of the attendants were left at the lake on the return journey the baij and orchestra save gave successful dances at panguitch and junction the trip was not a very profitable one but the members enjoyed the outing immensely pioneer day was celebrated on sunday an excellent service WB was held on sunday morning dunne which musical numbers were rendered by the
