| Show glenwood enwood GI boy killed tain led i m in explosion accident which takes life of child seriously injures father vadell hendrickson five year old son of mr air and mrs chester hendrickson of glenwood enwood GI was instantly killed when a steam boiler exploded while he was watching his father at work in a sawmill in indian canyon 30 miles north of price his father suffered a compound fracture of the right leg burns on right a arm legs and body and was taken to the hospital at price where he is still receiving treatment others injured were john johnson of nevada melvin edwards of duchesne and chris averett of price according to reports released from price after the accident the force of the explosion blew the boiler yards up the canyon and completely wrecked the mill the boy was standing by the side of mr air edwards holding his bis pants leg and was near the boiler the boys right leg was severed and he suf a deep laceration of the skull his left leg was broken the body was found near the spot on which he was standing mr edwards clothes clot lies were blown off but aside from lacerations and burns on the chest and face he was not as seriously injured as the other men mark boyer state road commission employed and mrs averett wife of the foreman notified price city hospital and an ambulance was rushed to the scene no cause for the explosion was given by a coroners jury which found the boys death to be accidental the mill had been in operation two years and this was the first accident during its operation the boys body was brought to glenwood enwood GI for funeral services and interment bishop J elmer presided at the services held sunday afternoon in the glenwood enwood GI ward chapel musical numbers were the hymns abide with me jesus lover of my soul and sometime well understand sung by the ward choir directed by mrs george peterson Pc terson accompanied by miss lena peterson a duet duct jesus wants me for a sunbeam by lapriel hellesen heilesen and nadine accompanied by mrs H E heilesen and a solo your sweet little rosebud has left you by H G accompanied by miss irene rickenbach speakers were I 1 W of venice charles wilson of richfield and andrew of glenwood enwood GI the invocation was by john C hendrickson dr the benediction by J L despain of venice the grave was dedicated by lyman relief society members carried the beautiful floral tributes pall bearers were arendell hendrickson of price laverl hendrickson fred jackson and gustive erickson of venice uncles of vadell many friends and relatives from nearby towns and others from more distant places attended the services vadell hendrickson was waa born bom at glenwood enwood GI january 5 1933 a son of chester and rilla erickson hendrickson dr he lived here until last fall when the family moved to price where mr hendrickson was employed at the sawmill owned by george B bearnson of spanish fork he is survived by his parents I 1 two sisters phyrma loy and deanna his grandmother mrs stena erickson Erick aon and his grandfather hyrum hendrickson |
