Show pioneer barber of richfield closes close s active career funeral services will be held friday afternoon at 2 in the second ward chapel for hyrum smith ivie who died at his home here tuesday af afternoon of ailments ants incident to age he had been conf confined ined to his bed the past three weeks mr ivie was bom in provo june 10 1857 a son of thomas thoma 3 C ivie and amanda jane moore he moved with his parents to mt pleasant among the first settlers and as a boy gave service in the black hawk indian war As a young man he moved to scipio and there married maria on march 8 1888 they moved to richfield in 1891 and have since made their home here mr ivie was a pioneer barber and also was active in mining and racing he owned and raised some of the best race horses knowlin know nin this section mr ivie was a member of th the e odd fellows lodge for over 30 years surviving are his widow eight sons and daughters mrs clara fillmore of twin falls idaho mrs avis malmsten of salt lake H S ivie jr of iowa city iowa mrs lela of richfield W B ivie of fremont nebraska mrs millie coleman los an angeles geles mrs tina poole of salt lak e and rex ivie of rich field sixteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren su survive ovive two daughters olive and sadie preceded their father in death H S ivie jr manager of the J C penney store in iowa city and W B ivie head man at the penney store in fremont spent last week here with their father |
