Show tha IN BEING T 0 gy crew and lone passenger escape injury in wreck wednesday Wed nesda y the wreckage of the marysvale Marys vale train 16 miles south of here wednesday morning was expected to be cleared today so that regular service could again be maintained according to denver and rio grande western officials the train left the rails at a mile north of sevier tearing up some yards of track but the only y person injured was douglas roberts express messenger who was riding in the baggage car lie he suffered two cracked ribs and was brought to richfield for treatment later gatei he be returned to the train the only passenger was not hurt members of the crew would make no statement as to the probable cause of the accident but it was thought possible that the rails spread or some mechanical part broke apparently the mail car or the baggage car was the first to leave the rails A special train from thistle took the mail and express north wednesday night and the relief train arrived at about 9 p m to start clearing the wreckage the train was in charge of wm hamilton conductor with david rowe brakeman douglas roberts messenger J F taylor engineer william olson fireman and willlam william parker mail clerk completing the crew |
