| Show H S ahe OF FOUR ties with delta first playoff play off game here tuesday with park city by JACK JESSUP A tine football eleven well coached and full of fight came over aiom delta and played the richfield wildcats to a six to six tie game on armistice day richfield scored first in the opening few minutes of play going down the field on straight football to the final stripe where bob duggan carried the ball over for a touchdown try for extra point failed delta came right back to march down the field and go over for a touchdown with frank lyman fullback lugging the ball over their pass over the line for extra point was completed but not allowed as the passer had touched his knee to the ground before the try the rest of the game saw richfield three times past the ten yard marker to lose the tha ball on downs delta also threatened several times with the bennet boys and moseley doing the bulk of the ball toting assisted occasionally by frank lyman clint mcshane was forced to missa miss lot of the game because of a hip injury and was missed aplenty by his mates although bob white played a fine game substituting at left lef t end bob duggan bore the brunt of the heavy tackling carrying the ball probably twice as many times as any one else on the field other outstanding players for the wildcats were chet fuellenbach and john rowley also henry beal who in spite of injuries made lots of yardage for the wildcats ned knaphus also played a nice game the beet harvest caused such a loss of practice that many of the players on the local squad not in shape for football and richfield was lucky to come out with a tie for delta the outstanding player was undoubtedly tex moseley at left half one of the best players seen here this year the bonnet bennet boys vard at right half and orin onn at quarter showed up exceptionally well another good man was frank lyman at full richfield champions of region 4 will play the winners of summit district region 2 park city here next tuesday afternoon at 2 which will be the first game of the state playoff play off why not turn out and help our championship pion ship outfit step up another notch |
