Show WILL hom COU ENT daniel P jensen succumbs to heart attack funeral held tuesday with many sympathetic friends clid nd relatives from richfield and surrounding towns in n atten attendance danee funeral services were held here tuesday afternoon in the third ward chapel for daniel P jensen gl 61 who died at his home bete friday at p m having suffered a heart attack the previous wednesday night it was appropriate that there were many flowers as mr air jensen had for years made a hobby bobby of raising unusual and beautiful varieties of flowers at his home and one of the large baskets of flowers came from his own garden mr air jensen had bad been prominent in business and civic affairs during his career but he courted no publicity and preferred his home associations the work with his flowers and appreciation of the beautiful in nature a thought that was brought out at the services by one of the speakers superintendent A J ashman other speakers were judge N J bates and mayor W L warner bishop hanmer E peterson of the fourth ward presided at the services for which music was furnished by a double mixed quartet under direction of mrs otto L anderson a male quartet miss evelyn sylvester violinist and mrs airs L A poulson soprano soloist though deepening trials and abide with me ale were sung by the double quartet which was composed of mrs otto L anderson mrs A B robinson mrs ruby nielson Nic lson mrs reginald peterson J lerue ogden H B mendenhall donald hansen and boyd jensen with miss lenna thurber as accompanist the male quartet composed of H B mendenhall owen bingham ed and milan sang lead Us oh father hills of home was sung by mrs poulson and miss sylv ester played good bye sweet day the opening prayer for the services was by bishop leon madsen of elsinore the closing prayer by bishop alex ale jensen of the third ward H J kotter dedicated the grave interment being in the city cemetery pallbearers Pall bearers were honorary john B hansen P N anderson J L staples jacob C jensen wm win johnston S G dark clark wm win gardner and jonathan lloyd active W B pace lewis W jones john hansen H H petersen james C hill and guy lewis A group of friends under direction on mrs T F young carried the flowers among the relatives who came to attend the services were all of mr air jensens hensens Jen sens immediate family three of mrs jensens hensens Jen sens sisters and members of their families from canada mr and mrs airs wm win her diey and daughter mrs robert ross and mrs john nelson and on fred dr H Z lund of salt lake city mr air and mrs airs wesley williamson of salt lake city dr and mrs J H hagan of spanish fork and mrs charles jensen and son easton of ephraim mr air jensen was born at richfield september 1 1872 a son of jens iver and inger jensen in 1893 he was made manager of the elsinore coop co op and jensen brothers company at elsinore leaving the elsinore firm in 1908 he returned to richfield and in 1910 became cashier of the state bank of sevier in which capacity he served until the bank closed in 1932 he was active in farming mining and livestock grazing in this section for many years he was active in a civic capacity serving as mayor of richfield in 1917 and 1918 and as president of the sevier county farm bureau for several terms at the time of his death he was justice of the peace in richfield mr air jensen served in denmark as a missionary for the L D S church leaving for his mission in 1898 for 15 deais he was superintendent erin of the sunday school at elsinore mr air jensens hensens Jen sens marriage to ala matilda lee took place in the salt lake temple in 1894 she and the following sons and daughters survive mrs gladys andelin And clin ogden byron jensen Mon rot mrs airs janice cranney los angeelas An geels mrs marie gease selma california and fred jensen richfield now nov an officer of the at fort douglas other survivors are 12 grandchildren a brother walter jensen of richfield and two sisters mrs F H gunn of richfield and mrs J W hagan of spanish fork after the close of the services tuesday brigham sandberg of central brought an article he had written to be read at the services but stated that lie he was too late to E give lve the paper to the officers in charge in it he be pays high tribute to mr air jensen as a friend and citizen |
