| Show WE M NEED A GYM Rich fields need for some sort of a community center building was forcefully shown last week when every inch of space in the high school gymnasium was packed with spectators who wished to witness the richfield monroe b basketball game long before game time all standing room was taken and in some cases those who held reserved seat tickets and expected to be able to come at the last minute and claim their seats were forced to miss the first part of the game because they push through the crowds blocking the entrance it is safe to say that not ten per cent of the spectators were situated even as comfortable as it is possible to be on hard benches without backs and probably many of those who supposedly had the choice seats wont come back again when the prospects of a crowd are the same as they were last week but the place will still be packed when a good evenings entertainment is offered the space simply sufficient to accommodate the spectators but the most serious condition is that which would be presented in case of fire the exits could not possibly take care of those rushing out and only a miracle would keep many from being seriously injured and last week one of the two exits was blocked with a packing crate for the sake of safety accommodation mo dation of spectators who pay the bills and community development lets see if we cant get a better gymnasium one that will also serve the needs of the community for recreation and exercise for everybody |
