Show DROUTH TO WILL BE ED list cattle cattia now is urge of state director wm peterson although heretofore there have been no restrictions on who might sell cattle through the drouth relief program in the declared drouth areas announcement was made this week by national headquarters that purchases will be limited from now on to owners who demonstrate to committees in charge that they are unable to feed their cattle and no cattle purchases will be made of persons offering hay for sale in all cases parity will be given to areas in the most distressed conditions as a result of the drouth further restrictions were announced in a letter from the state director under date of september 11 to the sevier county director S R boswell the state has now been restricted to td a total of head to be sold out of the state after september 1 and in the amount of money which might be paid for the cattle according to the schedule outlined there should have been shipped the week of september 10 carloads of cattle monday and tuesday of this week only seven carloads were vere received in the packing and canning plants in utah if this rate of delivery is continued the state director warns the plants will have to cease operations and consequently there may be no further means of disposing of cattle during october the director emphatically urges that it is essential that the rate of sales scheduled be maintained and suggests that it might be necessary to bring cattle in from the range early to list them he requested that mr boswell call the local committee together to solve this problem |
