Show 10 lo LIU lid rl HEI ai HUMUS act V TIES next meeting postponed until third week of next month due to the fact that the next regular meeting of the richfield lions club would come during the black I hawk encampment it was decided at the meeting wednesday of this week to postpone the next meeting to the third wednesday in august which comes on the the meeting this week consisted mainly of reports of committees on various projects in which the local lions club have been taking an active part joseph L asbury reported on the progress of arrangements for the black hawk encampment in place of mayor W L warner general chairman who was absent and on the road projects for southern utah in place of P F G martines chairman who was unable to be present at the meeting H M saen announced that there would be a meeting of the associated civic clubs 0 of f southern utah next saturday a at t beautiful maple canyon six miles west of moroni this meeting is to be sponsored by the moroni lions club and it was voted to have the local secretary W 0 cluff atte attend nd this meeting with 11 1 1 11 ras musson who is a director representing sevier county in the A C C dr D B gottfredson reported that plans are being made to solicit federal reconstruction funds for the erection of a county hospital in richfield and the prospects are very favorable for such an undertaking as hospitals are allowed under this system the government donating 30 per cent of the cost and loaning the other 70 per cent on a long thae basis providing urgent need can be proved dr gottfredson stated that such a hospital should pay out the 70 per cent without inflicting any additional burden on the taxpayers howard as a member of the black hawk parade committee reported that it looks now as if this parade would be the biggest one ever held here since the one which the am american legion staged immediately following the world war he said that almost every town and city in the county will enter a float and that many business concerns will have floats which should make the parade several blocks long this will be held on the second day of the encampment when governor blood is expected to be here president george peterson Pc terson reported on the district lions convention held last month at ogden and made a strong appeal for support of lions international in the many worthwhile projects which are arc being undertaken by the various clubs throughout the united states and canada arthur and james whittaker of circleville Cir cleville were guests of the club at dinner and were introduced to the members |
