Show PROSPECTS FOB GETT ING BOYS LOCATED HERE outdoor work develops appetites which mean large food supplies the prospects for getting the personnel of both grover and fish lake C C C camps moved to richfield for the winter months appears favorable indeed according to mayor VV I 1 L warner warmer captain doggett of the fish lake camp and captain autrey of the grover camp were both in richfield tuesday looking over the situation and investigating the road project P up into the west mountains as a source of employment for the boys A committee from the richfield lions club joined with the committee from the city council last friday to confer with the county commissioners regarding the use of the fair grounds as a camp site and were very favorably received captain doggett is using his influence to have that camp moved here instead of having the boys for the winter some interesting figures have been prepared by the ward department at washington D C which show that the outdoor work is developing ve tremendous appetites among the C C C boys as is ia shown by the following quantities of food consumed by the men stationed in the various camps oer over the nation each month the workers consume pounds of bacon pounds of beef eggs pounds of coffee pounds of flour and pounds of pork such being the case the stationing of these two camps containing in the neighborhood of men would mean a big income to this community for produce unfortunately the army regulations require that all meat be government inspected and milk must be pasteurized and come from tuberculin ber culin tested cows an effort will be made to get a government inspector in this territory in case the camps are moved here in order that local produce may be used instead of having to ship it from salt lake city |
