Show 0 0 ELSINORE by special correspondent 0 bishop H J kotter hotter resigns the members of the elsinore ward had a real surprise at sacramental meeting sunday night pre president ident james R ware and counselors james brown and wilford hansen of monroe were in attendance and near the close of the meeting president ware made the announcement that bishop H J kotter hotter had bad asked to be released from his office as bishop of the elsinore ward the resignation was accepted and a vote of thanks tendered bishop kotter for his faithful efforts in discharging his duties in that capacity bishop kotter hotter has been a devoted church worker having spent twenty one years at different periods in the history of the ward as a member of the bishopric and through his faithfulness and devotion to his office as bishop has won the love and respect of all of the members of the ward J P christensen and frank gunn have ser served ved as counselors to bishop kotter hotter scouts give program in connection with the regular sacramental meeting sunday night the boy scouts under the direction of scoutmaster hamner christensen and assistant scoutmaster lindon cropper gave an interesting program in in commemoration of the twenty first anniversary of scouting scoutmaster christensen gave a short talk on the benefits derived from scout work and district scout commissioner harold magleby of monroe spoke of the significance of scouting and in conclusion complimented the scoutmaster and assistant for the high rating attained by their troup A bone solo was rendered by coy christensen with mrs lillian jensen as accompanist scoutmaster christensen conducted the investors ceremony presenting the tenderfoot scouts their badges and an extra badge which each scout in honor of his mother was permitted to pin on her the program was concluded with a song and the indian sign prayer by the scouts local and personal mrs airs carrie hill delightfully entertained at an attractive afternoon luncheon friday at which a valentine scheme was carried out the affair was given complimentary to mrs airs hamner christensen who with her husband and family are leaving soon to make their home at beaver besides the bon honoree the guests included mesdames rose clara kotter trea frandsen violet jensen nora christensen sadie christensen mary alary larson stella hill mae jensen and carrie nielson mrs christensen received a guest favor from the hostess cards were the diversion mr air and mrs cleo Hn harward rard of aurora were dinner guests thursday at the home of mr and mrs william harward randall herring and earl hanchett were visitors at the state capital during the week mrs airs C L christensen of ephraim spent the week visiting at the home of her son and daugh ter in law mr air and mrs hamner christensen mrs christensen also visited at the home of mrs anna magleby at monroe mr air and mrs H S morrison of provo were weekend guests at the home of mr air and mrs airs hamner christensen hyrum lee came from st george friday for a few days visit with his family they are arc at present staying at the home of mrs airs lees parents mr air and mrs C K christensen mr air maurine lee of salt lake visited relatives here the first of the week the two ladies were en route to los angeles mrs reta bradley was hostess to the members of the L L club at her home saturday afternoon arrangements were made for a party to be given saturday sight night in honor of mr and mrs hamner christensen who are leaving elsinore the party will be given at the home of mr and mrs airs armour hill marga leavitt delightfully entertained a crowd of the younger set friday at a party in honor of her birthday anniversary games and refreshments were enjoyed mr air and mrs chris jensen returned to their home in provo the last of the week after a weel weeks acts visit with relatives here they were accompanied by mr air and mrs alma frandsen who will go to the salt lake clinic where mr frandsen will undergo an examination |
