Show board to decide length of school term here today leon newton of monroe president of the sevier district teachers association with C A white principal of the monroe high school B B Bur burmester of the richfield junior high school and reed thorpe of salina as executive members of the same association were here invited to attend the school board meeting held monday to discuss the difficulties with which the school board is confronted on account of the fact that delinquent taxes reached this year an unusual proportion less than sixty percent of the taxes were collected and the board consequently is not in possession of the funds that would be necessary to conduct the schools of the district for the intended term of nine months an effort will be made to have renewed a loan which falls due soon in order to cover expenses for which B C luth treasurer of the board went to salt sail lake city monday night the representatives of the teachers association assured the board of their hearty cooperation in in avoiding difficulties about payment of teachers salaries on the nine months contract should the term be shortened and a special meeting to reach a final decision will be held this afternoon at which time the board will confer with the representatives of the teachers association |
