Show bolls lolls CHOOSE edy LEWIS fi jw j W ap pp E members and ladies will banquet at fish lake L de labor day guy lewis cashier of the richfield commercial savings bank was elected president of the richfield lions club by a unanimous vote at a meeting held I 1 monday londay L evening mr lewis served the club very faithfully as vice vi ce president last year and the me members were insistent that he accept this year the leaders leadership bip of the 0 organization he takes the place of J milton olsen who has made an excellent president the past year the other officers elected were as follows H M vice president howard secretary treasurer W 0 duff cluff tail t vister twister dr otto L anderson lion tamer the following members were chosen to serve as directors the first two for a term of two years and the other two for one year F G martines J R barker V INI fairbanks and joseph L asbury kenneth L hood was elected music director for the club preceding the election G E st steiner e i ner kenneth L hood and J J were fori formally nally initiated into me membership in be enship which makes a total of nine new members taken in during august special musical numbers for the entertainment of the club given iven by kenneth L hood and by iris Pet peterson eison daughter of lion george r peterson getelson Pet Pe telson eison who sang to her own ukulele accompaniment president olsen expressed his appreciation to the directors officers and men members ibers for their splendid support and cooperation during his term of office and pledged himself to work just as hard as a layman to help cany out the big program planned for the corning coming year he also thanked the other civic organizations which have worked hand band in hand with the lions on their various community enterprises ile he announced that the formal installation of the new officers would take place monday evening september 8 at the next regular meeting lion fairbanks announced that he had bad completed arrangements for the dinner and dance next monday day even evening inz september 1 when the richfield lions and their lionesses will be guests of W L easton at his on oil fish fiah lake dinner will be served at 8 p in and the dance v will ill follow kenneth L hood and dr otto L anderson were appointed to make arrangements for music for this occasion A letter was read from the panguitch lions club asking that a local representative be appointed e I 1 to serve on a general committee of southern utah bo who will devise ways and means of advertising the attractions in this part of the state joseph L asbury was elected to serve on that committee which will meet in richfield august 28 the club voted to enter the attendance contest being conducted by the international organization and a special effort will be made to have the members turn out as nearly per cent each meeting as possible |
