Show Glen Warner Advocates Novel Plan in Football Glenn Scobey Warner, veteran Stanford Stan-ford coach, Is out as an advocate of the two-team football system, which will be given a trial by several Midwestern Mid-western universities this season. Warner has devised the following plan: Divide the squad Into two teams, one being composed of seniors and the other of juniors., Sopoho-mores Sopoho-mores would fill In as substitutes on both elevens. Neither team would bs considered the first varsity, being classed "A" and "B" to suit the purpose. The elevens would represent Stanford on alternate Saturdays. Stanford's schedule Is bo arranged that the juniors would be called upon up-on to meet Washington and Southern-California Southern-California if the seniors played against California in the annual "big game." A majority of tbe veterans will be seniors. It Is expected that Coach Warner's plan will be submitted to the faculty and students for study. Critics pointed out that while the proposition would enable twice as many players to participate, it would also weaken the Cardinals. |
