| Show lit in the matter of pioneer day we are requested to publish the follow bonning ing comment oner oer the signature of the writer for the first time in the history of sevier county richfield celebrated the twenty fourth of july in a most solemn manner the citizens slept quietly until late in the morning their boniv di disturbance being the bellowing of cows anious an ious to be ni milked liked the only signs of anything in the nay may of a celebration was that of one drunken man an on the streets of the city brachfield Rach field will go on record of being the only city town or baal hamlet t that did not do honor to the pioneers of this great state shame to the maor and city council for such a record true many marly vent went to fish lake and other resorts from richfield but all other places furnished their share of this class of citizens but the authorities ties of these town towne 4 did not forget to celebrate in some degree the twenty fourth of july in their own towns while the goNer governors nors and leading men of many of the ni estern states celebrated the event in their own states state in honor of the pioneers rs of utah on the twenty fourth of july our next city election it is hoped will place men in the council who will not forget to do honor to the pioneers of our great state respectfully submitted W C B orrock |
