Show 03 0 AURORA I 1 by special correspondent I 1 0 0 baby boy drowned virgil christenzen two tivo year old son of sir mr and sirs mrs sylvan chris met tragic death thurida thursday y afternoon when lie v was as drowned in the rocky ford canal banol while mrs L P christenzen Chri stenen the babas grandmother was sitting on the porch picking over berries the abby 12 by was playing on the front lawn the grandmother turned curried her head to put a handful of berries in the pan and when she looked again she missed the baby just then the mother of the little boy came down stairs she went to look lock for him birn not finding him on the lawn she ran across the road to her grandmothers place but the boy was not to be found A neighbor was called and a frantic was begun volunteer helpers worked every device to locate the baby at last it was decided to have men wade up the canal they were helped help e d by means of a rope extended to both sides of the canal and pulled by men when a snag was dislodged dislodge the body floated one half mile down the canal and was recovered after a four hour search funeral services were held at the aurora hall sunday sunday morning bishop sorensen took charge of the meeting A song cast thy bread upon the tj waters was sung by a ladies chorus prayer was vas said by elmer nelson of redmond A song by a ladics ladies chorus was followed by a sermon from bishop sorensen Soi ensen other numbers a solo by mrs gerald mason a talk by patriarch moroni lazenby Laze riby and a song by the ladies chorus benediction wa was s uttered by C M ivie interment was in the redmond where the grave was dedicated by C M MichL ilson of redmond many beautiful floral offerings covered the grave card of thanks we wish to give our thanks and appreciation to all who assisted in the search for our baby also for the many flowers and beautiful singing and everything that was lone done to ease our great sorrow mr and mrs sylvan christensen and I 1 mr and mrs L P christensen and family s auto accident an accident which might have proven fatal occurred sunday afternoon on main street in aurora when tile the cars driven by C W sevy of richfield and legrande durfee collided turning t U aning the durfee car onto its side the accident occurred when mr IN ar durfee coming from a si side de road not noticing a an n approaching car from the north drove onto the highway the front end of the sevy car struck the stile durfee car in the back fender and bumper no injury was done to the occupants of the cars A back fender wheel and bumper bumbar were damaged on the durfee car local and personal mrs lucinda young mrs don young and miss mildred young all of colburn colorado were guests at the george sheppard home friday evening eve n ing mrs M r s don young and miss mildred young left for their home ho e saturday while mrs lucinda young youn g is si spending ending a week here bete before goin going to holden mr and mrs toni tom taylor and baby of ruth nevada spent last week visiting with friends and relatives here mrs leon ivie and small daughter of american fork made a short visit at the W R johnson home wednesday mr and mrs elmer nelson of circleville Cir cleville were visiting tinz at the amasa harward home friday mr and mrs simmons simmon harward and children of loss creek were visiting mr and mrs james curfew sunday I 1 mrs AV L thompson and children were guests at the chas nielson home thursday |
