beating at the hands of the lads from the north they just simply play ball nephi walked off with a 10 4 victory tile the game was vas watched by over a thousand people the largest crowd yet seen at any game in southern utah in spite of the fact that sa lina nephi games usually bring hard feelings quick words and occasionally a fight the wednesday game was vas very peaceful stirring tir ring pioneer day celebration wednesday morning in honor of pioneer day an earsplitting salute was sounded at sunrise by the leaion aion boys and at nine a train of pioneer wagons came around the foothills east of salina Salin and were attacked by prowling indian braves at a signal from the manager of the entertainment the indians started circling around the whites who rapidly pr prepared eared tonight to fight with the noise of blanks and the shouts and war whoops of the indians and the dust stirred up by the horses it was a realistic scene well worth going out to see following the battle the gigantic parade was formed and marched west to the hospital and back to the second ward ivard chapel where it disbanded the legion boys with the city fire truck led the parade and followed by indiana stage coaches hand carts decorated automobiles carrying pioneer settlers and floats from the various business houses miss utah was represented by miss myrna jensen with ruth anderson marie hilbeck
