| Show nanom B P wa to CLUB I 1 miss ruth rich of new york city to be guest of club monday miss aliss ruth rich preparations are being completed by the local B P W club to entertain miss ruth rich of new york city field secretary of the national federation of business and professional 1 clubs who will be in richfield monday december 2 on the occasion of her visit the local club will have as quests guests at a banquet in the johnston hotel at monday evening the clubs of salina gunnison and milford As the purpose of miss richs visit is to organize new clubs as well as assist and encourage those already organized sed invitations have been extended to women working in business or professional lines in other southern utah towns among them the towns of panguitch kanab beaver cedar city st george and delta miss rich is a former jacksonville newspaper woman who went to new york in 1923 to become editor of the ind independent woman magazine of the national federation she resigned that position in november 1925 to become better films secretary of the national board of review and now returns to federation work in the capacity of field organizer miss rich is a pioneer in federation activities having been one of the delegates to the first convention in st louis in 1919 she was selected recording secretary of the organization at the 1920 convention in st paul and served in that capacity for two years she has attended d every convention of the organization except the 1927 convention in oakland california A long period of successful work with in florida preceded miss richs entrance into the national federation activities she was a red cross organizer in florida during the world war and served the european relief committee of florida as its executive secretary after attending stetson university was teacher at rollins college for two years her newspaper career in lorida florida r was a brilliant one early in her newspaper work she showed an aptitude unusual for a woman and was eventually given a mans run developing ve into an authority on real estate and business development |
