Show H CLUBS OF SEVIER COUNTY AT UTAH STATE FAIR BIB while not winners our boys and glas girls earn plaudits audits Pl of judges 4 11 clubs of sevier county were well represented at the utah state fair october 4 to 2 inclusive with exhibits of work done by members and demonstrations by two girls teams and one boys team the following club leaders sent exhibits of sewing work fern thelma anderson and ellen salina marie imarie christensen and ruby magleby richfield the winning demonstration team at the sevier county fair was mary snow and elaine poulson of richfield these girls were sevier coun tys official team at the utah state fair and gave an excellent demonstration on the making of a hot dish holder the alternate demonstration team were helen nielson and bernice christensen of central they also had the pleasure of the trip to salt lake city they participated in the judging of home economic products and also gave their second prize demonstration the making of a flared skirt the champion boys team grant gran t christensen and carlyle hunt of richfield represented sevier county boys club at the state fair and gave a demonstration on fitting a calf for the show the boys secured a calf from the 4 H club boys exhibit from wasatch county for the purpose of giving their demonstration all of the exhibits and demonstration teams from sevier county did splendid work and received compliments from the judges the p team however was selected from north logan the northern girls gave a wonderful demonstration on neck lines and finishes these girls will represent the state of utah at the pacific international livestock show at portland about november 1 the prize NN winning inning boys demonstration team was from mt pleasant the demonstration methods of wool grading won for them the trip to the pacific international livestock show at portland the contests at salt lake city were held in the utah state agricultural building on the state fair grounds and were under the direction of D P murray state club leader assisted by myrtle davidson home demonstration leader at logan and afton odell clothing specialist of we th e extension service the demonstration teams were accompanied compa nied to salt lake city by mrs parley poulson and mrs 0 C snow mothers of the first team and by their leader malie christensen and by mr and mrs S R boswell |
