a mixed quartet composed of miss bliss mary mccallum McCa lIum soprano I 1 D miss aliss I 1 daniels alto dan baker tenor and A C prows bass the casket wis buried i under a profusion 0 n of noral floral tributes f from roni the family a tile the city of salina the masonic and odd fellows lodge 3 the eastern star chapter and th many friends the departed had miss daniels was at the piano when the pallbearers pall bearers all of them salina members of hiram lodge carried the remains into the church mayor dr C leo merrill was the first speaker after reading a le ie solution of respect and condolence passed by the city council in in a special meeting lie he extolled the virtuous and fine character of john arneson as councilman and judge after a duet duct by misses mccallum and daniels dr M of richfield addressed the audience in behalf of hiram lodge in a few appropriate words resolutions paying tribute to the departed read by bv mis J I 1 re rex for gloria chapter no 19 0 E S by dan balzer baker for hiram lodge no 12 and by al C nelson of richfield for the odd fellows lodge mr air nelson also paid tribute in touching words to the late member of the lodge and gave consolation to the survivors howaad jones of salt lake city spoke fittingly ii in behalf of the consistory of utah and of the order of the mystic shrine after a soprano solo by miss mccallum rev mcleod of the presbyterian church of manti gave a scripture reading and a sermon which was lotto weil liy by another song by the quartet and an almost endless line rf if r f automobiles then followed the remains to the cemetery where rev mcleod dedicated the grave the le solutions lead during the services aie as follows 7 resolutions OF condolence for dr friece arneson on the death of her beloved husband john arneson WHEREAS REAS our heavenly father has seen fit to call home your beloved husband and our beloved fraternity brother therefore be it resolved we the sisters and brothers of gloria chapter no 19 order of the eastern star extend our deepest sympathy in the time of your bereavement our birther has finished his allotted task in the conflict of life the chapter of his earthly sojourn is is closed but his many virtues shall not go unrecorded for a th time ne we have walked with him in the pilgrimage of life and around the same altar we have learned the lessons of our beautiful order As he was faithful to his convictions of right a av he was obedient to the demands of honor and justice in his station as he loved kindred and friends anti and in affliction evinced a trustful faith and as he lived in the spirit of charity and the love of truth so shall be his reward remembering his many virtues we are indeed mourners at his grave and in the house of sorrow we would drop the tear of community in which he lived he was an upright man ilan and mason a kind and devoted husband a faithful friend and a useful and honorable citizen always willing and ready to perform every one of his all overruling providence called from his earthly stiffe sn rings to a home where pain and sorrow are unknown and whereas brother arneson was by his faithful allegiance to our lodge and its rules and regulations always a beacon light for our founier younger brothers therefore be it resolved that in the death of brother john arneson the members of this lodge fully recognize that they have lost one of their number who was at all times imbued with the pure principles of the order and whose life and conduct suffered no reproach to be on his character either as an odd fellow or a fellow citizen be
