Show BY CHO H OF WHO Is WELL IT I 1 RED F first arst of ward recreational activities to help defray cost of 0 stage construction the program outlined by the second ward ard choir for present presentation atron thursday evening had drawn a large crowd of people who listened attentively to the pleasing rendition of the various numbers it was given as the faist of a series of recreational activities arranged for the ward and the proceeds were to help defray the cost of erecting a stage in the chapel A partition extending across the entire front of the building broken only by the open arch front of the stage has been stenciled in an attractive design desigio by oar loel local painter chris myer 1 jr who planned the stage and worked night after night last leek eek in an effort effii t to finish the painting before the conceit when the painting of the interior of I 1 the the stage is complete and the nw cur curtain tain which came thursday dav ni night t lit I 1 too late for hanging before the concert conceit is in place the effect will be very pleasing the entire stage caril can f be easily taken down and put back up again when necessary arid and though simple in construction and comparatively inexpensive it is a gay relief from the usual improvised stages used in church buildings and will sel serve ne well for most of the programs to be pie dented by the ward organizations jonathan jor ithan lloyd acted as manager J L terry as musical niu director and mrs anna callaway as accompanist for the concert which included selections by terrys orchestra prayer bishop W A dance fan F n tique a gwen ashman b zona morrison with miss aliss melba lloyd at the piano cantata the landing of ane pilgrims bv the choir with kenneth L hood soloist two monolo monologues guei the football fan fail and my sisters best feller miss aliss ina loyd two baritone solos olos s blow blow thou winter wind and sapphic ode clifford W pearl saxophone one solo delecta marlell christensen Christens cn with mrs christensen accompanying two soprano solos rain and mah alah lindy lou mrs L A poulson and a oneat one a act t play the robber directed by baliss flora the cast for the play was uras composed of miss aliss gae 0 ogden miss flora jim gunn and clifford magleby dr T R gledhill pronounced the benediction ben lyeen diction the work of tile the performers was creditable in every respect and gave e proof of the fact that the second ward has exceptional talent |
