Show HIGH MUSIC T IN performance under direction of 1 L terry deserving of high praise the readers of our school pages will find among the news items from the richfield high school a report of the high school opera pickles which was presented on two evenings friday and saturday to capacity audiences in the opera house due credit is given to J L terry the director the soloists and chorus and there is not much to be added t to the report except the statement that the performances were even better than can call be learned from the report we found the fine presentation a result not of haid drill but of intelligent musical education on which mr terry is to be highly complimented mediocre Me diocie traveling companies and troupes could not do as well and perhaps with the exception of cherry blossom given here lil in 1920 pickles was by far the best acted sung and played by our high school in years especially worthy northy of mention is the fine work of the orchestra of fifteen pieces which with two or three exceptions was entirely composed of high school students and mastered the score in surprisingly good manner A word of praise also must be given to the staging and the dancing while in other years we ne frequently 0 had to say that the female leads were were much better than the male parts we can truthfully say this year that both were vere equally good in acting as well as in in singing the only criticism we have to make is not in regards to the performers but to the audience which should not have beenson been so stingy with their encouraging applause |
