| Show THE END 11 while the armistice signed by the germans last monday morning is not necessarily the beginning of peace yet the terms of the armistice practically make it impossible for germany to resume the war so we are justified in assuming this to be the end of the great world war america celebrated the event with true american abandonment every city and hamlet turned itself loose to celebrate the dawn of peace every kind of 0 noise producing implement was brought into play and the great american people signified their happiness at the ending of the long casualty list which fathers and mothers eagerly scanned each day here in utah we celebrated in tr true u te american style every town lid did its full duty in letting it be known how S g the joy at the victorious c ending of the war and the beating of some sort of saneness into the german leaders and such a victory who could have dreamed a year ago w with germany and her allies in the full tide of victory that november 11 1918 would see bulgaria turkey austria and germany on their knees to the 11 illes allies and the united states at that time it looked like a german victory or at least a peace by negotiation tia tion kitchener foresaw clearer than most others he said at the beginning of hostilities the war would last five years and it will be all of five years ere the thing is cleared away and now that germany is beaten there must be a cleaning up of the men who sanctioned the horrible atrocities of the past four years atrocities ro cities that have made the past monsters of history shrink into insignificance the allied nations must demand the surrender of the brutal officers who permitted the wholesale murder of innocent victims the great outstanding monster is william but with him are von hindenburg von Trl TrI the man who instituted the submarine ware fare and who ordered the destruction of the lusitania then comes von bissing the monster who ruled belgium the man who sanctioned the murder rapine and slavery of belgium von conrad von der lancken blancken and all others connected with the alleged trial and execution of edith cavell the english nurse who was foully f murdered in a belgian prison by germans on october 12 1917 these are only a few of the murderers there is a long list of them who should be sought out arrested and executed for their part in the horrors of the invasion of france and belgium not only should these be executed but the gillians vil lians who comprised the german legation in the united states should be brought mackto the united states and made to answer for their dastardly efforts here let us rejoice at peace but let us remember the men who caused such uncalled tor for suffering during the gr struggle eat and let the strong arm of the allies reach out and deal with them as they ehdy should be dealt w wi b h the murder of innocent women and children the enslavement of noncombatants combatants non an the foul crimes of germans should not go unpunished |
