Show Memorial Day Becomes a Home Coming' Event Many Flowers Put on Graves Mount Pleasant was the scene of a general home coming event today with people from various towns of the state as well as from neighboring neighbor-ing states coming to pay tribute to loved ones who had gone before. From early morn till late in the evening people were seen going to and coming from the cemetery h-here they decorated the graves with beautiful flowers. Nearly every home in Mount x"'l.'.'asant had visitors from some other place and it made a real home coming event as well as a memorial day. For a number of years past Mt Pleasant has shown much interest and pride in the city cemetery and has made efforts to keep it in a most attractive condition. People have planted many beautiful shrubs and flowers in nearly every part of the cemetery, making it one. of the most attractive burial places outside out-side of the larger cities. This year the attractiveness and cleanliness of the place has attracted attrac-ted much attention by visiors from other places. Ornamental trees and beautiful flowers have been planted throughout the cemetery, for beautification of the resting place of departed friends. It seems as if this year more flowers thau ever were taken to the cemetery, and it presented a most beautiful sight to all who visited there. The firing squad of the Mervil Zabriskie Post Number 4 of the American Legion on Memorial Day went to Fountain Green, Moroni, Wales, Spring City and Mount Pleasant and fired salutes over the graves of departed soldiers. This squad was under the leadership of Post Comander J. Faireld Larsen. |
