Show Wasatch Begins Fifty-fourth Year Tuesday, Sept. 4 Wasatch Academy is scheduled to open its fifty-fourth year on Tuesday, September 4th. The Boarding department depart-ment will open a day earlier. Superintendent W. K. Throndson will head the school for his fifth year. Other former teaehers are: Mr. Graham Gra-ham C. Loofbourow, Principal; Miss Sadie I. Raw, Home Economics; Miss Madge Muchmore, social science; Mr. Ernest G. Brunger, Physical Education and Athletics; Miss Ethel Trowbridge, Dining Room Supervisor; Mrs. Millie Berkhimer, boy's Matron; Mr. Joseph A. Poncel, Science; Miss Mary Apple-gate.English; Apple-gate.English; Mrs. George Smithpeter, Latin; Tvlr. George Smithpeter, Mathematics; Mathe-matics; Mr. Marcus Dressman, Commercial; Com-mercial; Miss Eva Langdon, Commercial; Commer-cial; Mrs. Hilma Becker, Nurse; Mrs. Elizabeth Wykoff, girls' Matron; Miss Alyce Murry, Miss Helen Rounds, Secretary. Sec-retary. Newly appointed teachers are: Mr. Harold Filday, Music-University of Michigan; Miss Frances E. Ball, Bible. Columbia University; Mr.. Bushgens, Manual Arts; Iowa State Teachers College; Miss Hefelbower, English, University Un-iversity of Illinois; Mrs. Joseph A. Poncel Grades, University of Dubuque. The Spanish teacher is yet to be appointed. ap-pointed. Advance registration points to a heavy enrollment. The student body includes students from forty-four Utah communities and the states of Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho and Colorado. The fifth grade has been discontinued discontinu-ed this year. Mrs. Joseph Poncel will have general supervision of the gram-mer gram-mer grades but she will be assisted by .several of the high school teachers as the work is to be departmentalized. |
