Show Snow Measurements Give Encouragement On November 30, 1931, 'weather observations were made by Ranger Ran-ger Thursby. A fairly heavy cover cov-er of snow was found on the mountains and in the valley. Soil conditions are excellent for preserving pre-serving and absorbing the moisture. mois-ture. At the Oaks Station (lower elevation) ele-vation) the snow depth was 14 inches with a water content of 2.533 inces. The snow gauge recorded re-corded 3.14 inches from the month of Novembr, indicating some loss of water from the snow on the ground. At the Great Basin Experiment Station the snow depth was 19.615 inches, with a water content of 4.215 inches. The snow gauge recorded re-corded 4.45 inches of water for the month of November, Indicating again some loss of water from the snow on the ground.
