Show P.-T. Drive for More Members Several hundred people attended the Membership meeting and social of the Parent- Teachers Association, Thursday evening at the North Sanpete San-pete high school. Music was furnished by pupils of the Hamilton School fourth grades, under direction of Mr. Marsden All-red. All-red. "Purposes of the P. T. A." were discussed dis-cussed by Mrs. H. Lawrence Barton; vocal solo, Mrs. Grant Olson; readings, Miss Charlotte Ulke. Parent-teachers characterization, a unique skeleton stunt, written and supervised sup-ervised by Mrs. A. E. Jones. Following this program the crowd was escorted by Merlin Christensen of the Junior high faculty and Miss Ila Miner, N. S. H. S. faculty member, through dimly lighted halls, autumn leaf chutes, and other weird ways, inro the school gymnasium where a program pro-gram of clever stunts and refreshments were enjoyed." A feature was a singing contest in which school patrons from each voting vot-ing district of the city participated. All the songs referring to the P. T. A. ware original; some of the groups wore in costume, one ol which represented, repre-sented, "Old Fashioned School Days" and another, "The Wedding of the P. T. A." adding interest and zest to the evenings entertainment. The five song leaders were: Mrs. W. C. Olson, Mrs. R. D. Jones, Mrs. L. Croft I.arsen. Mrs. Edgar Nelson and Mrs. J. W. Jones. A membership booth in clever Hal loween design attracted interest and surely did bring in the quarters, the annual dues |
