Show N. S. Wins Honors In State Commercial Contest The Utah State Commercial Contest held at the Brigham Youn University, March 27, 1931 was supported by the largest number of participants ever entered in previous previ-ous years. There were thirty-nine high schools represented by over three hundred students. The complete typewriting results are as follows: Novice (1st year) typewriting. Richfield, first. North Sanpete, seccnd. Granite, third and Moroni honorable mention. Second-year typewriting: Richfield, Rich-field, first. Lehi, second. North Sanpete, third and Juab, honorable mention. Amateur (3rd year) typewriting: typewrit-ing: Richfield, first. Juab, second. Provo High, third and North Sanpete, San-pete, honorable mention. Accuracy awards. Novice typewriting: Anna Lou Peterson, Richfield, first; Inez Lavin, Granite, honorable mention. Second year: Faun Larsen, North Sanpete, first; Virginia Winter, Juab, Ju-ab, honorable mention. Amateur: Marjorie Seegmiller, Richfield, first. School averages for the silver loving cup. Richfield, first; North -Sanpete, second; Lehi, third; Juab, honorable honor-able mention. North Sanpete school average was fifty net words per " minute. Individuals comprising the teams were as follows: Novice . team Dean Peterson, Clarence Anderson, Erma Allred. Second year team: Faun Larsen, Margaret Bunnell, Florence Neilson. Amateur team: Lloyd Jensen, Otis Shepherd, Ida Allred. Miss Faun Larsen received a gold accuracy medal for writing 67 net words per minute for a period of fifteen minutes with only four errors. er-rors. Lloyd Jensen, by a small fraction of a word lost second place on the Amateur team. This is the first year North Sanpete San-pete has received recognition, and Miss Miner, the commercial instructor, in-structor, is to be complimented on the success that her- studenis achieved.. |
