Show Sanpete 4-H Clubs Conclude Con-clude Fifth Annual Outing Professor D. P. Murray, Utah State E.xtensison 4-H club leader m his talk last Friday at the fifth annual an-nual 4-H club outing of Sanpete County at Crystal Springs, said that "Sanpete not only has the largest 4-H club enrollment of any icouniy in the state, but that this was the best attended county outing that he had attended in Utah." Professor Pro-fessor Murray complimented the leaders in charge, the members and parents, in the fine club work that i is being put over in Sanpete Coun- Out of 450 enrolled members m 4-H club work in Sanpete County, there were actually registered Friday Fri-day at the outing 355 members; n addition there were 36 leaders anrt 191 guests present, making a total registered attendance of 582. Thir. number came from thirteen communities com-munities throughout the county. Cars began arriving at 8:30 a. m. and kept coming until twelve noon. Volley ball, indoor baseball, swimming swim-ming and miscellaneous games were participated in until 12:15 o'cIook. Onj hour was devoted to luncheon At 1:30 p. m. the meeting convened conven-ed in the large dance hall, which was overflowing. Count Agent C. O. Stott was in charge of the general gen-eral activities as well as the meeting, meet-ing, local club leaders from the several communities assisting. Club stunts and program numbers furnished fur-nished at the meeting were as follows: fol-lows: Stunts Mt. Pleasant 1st and 4th sewing, "Club Rally." Manti 2nd dairy club, "Talking Contest." Moroni 1st sewing, reading. Clarion 2nd sewing, mush eating contest. Ephraim 3rd cooking, reading. Moroni 1st sewing, club group song. Fairview 1st poultry, egg laying contest. Ephraim 4th sewing, vocal solo. Manti first sewing, "The Rosary' parody on darning stockings. Moroni 1st sewing, club group I song." Ephraim 1st cooking, coslimu- vocal vo-cal duet. .;unnison 2nd sewing, reading. Manti 2nd cooking, club group song. Axtell 1st cooking. Kitchen Bank selection. Fountain Green 1st sewing, reading read-ing and clover leaf drill. Moroni 1st and 2nd dairy calf, "Our Fine Calves." Spring City 1st sewing, vocal solo. Interspersed in the stunts and songs were talks from state leader D. P. Murray, C. W. Sorensen, President Pres-ident cf Sanpete County Banker's Association and County Agent C. O. Stott, Professor W. D. Porter, Secretary Sec-retary of Director William Peterson of hte Extension Service, entertained entertain-ed with some jokes. Other guests were Marv Hansen, of the state office. of-fice. County Agent A. E. Smith of Nehi, Peter Sundwall, cashier at Fairview State Bank, and L. A. Peterson Pe-terson of North Sanpete Bank, Mt. Pleasant. The tense moment on the program pro-gram was the presentation of the silver loving cuu from the County Bankers Association by President C. W. Sorensen to Miss Roberta Malmgren. leader of the Third Year Sewing Club of Centerfield for tht j largest percentage attendance of I any club at the outing. Miss Malm-I Malm-I grin had all of her nineteen members mem-bers present Friday and all nineteen nine-teen have completed their club project proj-ect work for this year. In the attendance, other clubs fhf.t received honorable mention in order were as follows: Axtell first year cooking club and Moroni dairy calf club. The winners of the club ill i stunts were: first, Fountain Green et ' firrt year sewing club, "4-H Drill-" tiol ::eco:ui.
