Show 55 Early Resident of Mt. Pleasant and Fairview is ; Mother of Eleven Children. Mrs. Helen Orton, a.ge 65 years, wife of John Orton, died at her home Monday, January 25 after an illness ol several years. Funoial service were held in the Fairview North ward chapel Friday, January 29. The combined oh oh a of Fairview wares ' under the direction of Jesse L. Young .sang, "I Need Thee Every Hour, "O My Father" and Shall We Meet Beyond the River." A ladies quartet, quar-tet, Mrs. Ellen Peterson, Mrs. Mabel Peterson, Mrs. George Olsen and Mrs. Ellis Coombs gave a beautiful number-. A duet was given by Stanley Baady and Jese L. Young. The speakers were Henry Mower, james 1. Peterson, George F. Olsen and Henry W. Jones, all spoke well of her life. Prayers were offered -by J. P. Jorden and Wm. Boihne. The funeral was well attended, Floral ofierings were profuse and beautiful. Five or her sons, and her son-in-law, Jos Hughes acted an pa11 bearers. ' James P. Larsen dedicated the grave in the Fairview ceuietary. Mrs. Helen Orton was the daughter of' Bishop Arnasa and Rebecca Winters Tucker. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, January 6, 1861. She spent her childhood days in Fairview, and married Jolhn Orton in July, 1877 They . had eleven children, seven of whom survive her. Ezra Orton of Rupert, Idaho, Mrs. Ellis Morton of Salt Lake City, Reuben Orton of Murray, Edwin Orton of Mt. Pleasant Rullon Orton of Winter Quarters, Tucker Orton and Reed Orton of Fairview, also a number of .granti-children. .granti-children. She leaves one brother, Amasa Tucker and one sister, Mrs. Part Vance of California. Among the oiut of tofwn visitors, bCGidels .her-children, .her-children, were Mr. and Mrs. Josep.i Seely, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Winters, Kb. and Mrs. Guy Candland of Mt. Pleasant; came to attend the funeral. |
