"'"J The problems that are receiving con-? con-? sideration are as follows: xi Wales the question of raising their dam at the reservoir is being considered. The increased water MK8 thus stored, it is contemplated, will be pumped through a pipe a distance )of ninety feet vertical lift and 9 HO feet horizontally to cover a portion of the higher ground to the south iti east of the town. Flood Control. At Mt. Pleasant the Flood Control Projec: is deftnately under way. The money for the undertaking has been raised. The committee on lands has reported and the farmers hive been helped to stake out the dam and dikes on the project. A. F. Reynolds went with Mr. Clyde and assisted in this work. It la expected that construction work will begin at once and as far as possible completed this fall. It is estimated tnat the project will cost between aur and five thousand dollar. 3" At Fairview the question of de termining the shortage in stream flow on the problem concerning two irrigation companies is receiving the D attention of the engineer. It will require a series of water measurements measure-ments to determine the relative rights. 6 At Spring City surveys are being made on at least three small reservoir reser-voir sites. After costs have been figured a detailed report will be rendered to the irrigation company for their consideration and action. Some help is being extended to the 'ater control project on the swamp lands between Ephraim and Mantl. Soil analysis are now being run on samples taken from this area, at the college. At Manti the question of additional addition-al storage, both on the Funk's Lake 1 project and a number of small sites P Manti Canyon, Is being considered , and surveys are being made on the various projects that will render data 'or future action. n aH of these projects In the county the engineer will render detailed de-tailed reports to the various com- munities and companies concerned 80 that they can thoroughly weigh tle problems before taking deflnate action. |
