Motley, 4 5 years of age. special investigator for the state, board of equalization, died Saturday Satur-day morning, January 17th, at his home in Salt Lake City.. lie suffered a paralytic stroke two years ago. He partially recovered una resumed his duties, but was ayain stricken a short time ago. Mr. Morley was a native of Sanpete San-pete county and formerly lived at Moroni. :After' he became an investigator investi-gator for the boarkl of equalization about fO'jr years ago he took up his jesidence in Salt Lake. As a young man Mr. Morley served as an L. D. S. missionary in the outhern states. For some time he was employed as a deputy in the office of-fice of the assessor and of the county clerk of Sanpete county. He was then e.ected county clerk of Sanpete county and served several terms. When his last term expired he entered enter-ed the employ of the boart.1 of equalization. equal-ization. In accordance with bis duties as special investigator be checked the assessments made by the county assessors as-sessors and the reports made to the hoard by public utilities and mining companies. Members of the board report that he was an efficient employee em-ployee ani.l well liked by county of-licc'is of-licc'is and others with whom he came in contact. Surviving are his widow and seven children, his mother, two brothers and three sisters. |
